Du désir à l’audace, entre superlatif et excessif : le mot audace en français

Abstract

Our lexical and semantic study of the noun audace shows, from Latin to French, how this term has experienced a regular axiological oscillation between the positive and negative meanings (in short, from courage to temerity), which is favored by the lability that undeniably exists between the superlative degree and the expression of excess.
