Pouvoir et limites des mots de l’histoire dans En esta dulce tierra d’Andrés Rivera
Abstract
The study of the novel En esta dulce tierra, published in 1984, which opens the 'historical' cycle of the Argentinian writer Andrés Rivera (1928-2016), will enable us to show the questions it raises about history, the words chosen to write it and what we learn from it bring it closer to historiographic metafiction. We will examine the notion of official history, which arouses the mistrust of Argentines and Rivera towards the historians’ words and, therefore, the writing of history. Secondly, we will show how the plot and construction of Rivera's narrative become a metaphor for the difficulty of the writing of history.
